Okkyung Lee — cellist, composer, and improviser — meets Explore Ensemble in a new work for herself and the Explore Ensemble sextet: Signals. Following exploratory sessions throughout 2024, Lee’s new work morphs with every performance, adapting in response to the particularities of each performance space and the individual musicianship of the ensemble players. In Signals, Lee’s personal sound of visceral extended techniques multiply among the sextet, who plunge into the depths of their instruments at both intimate and volatile extremes.

Explore Ensemble make their festival debut at Rainy Days at the Philharmonie Luxembourg alongside Okkyung Lee as part of their autumn European tour.
